Dr. Young grew up in the local area and graduated from Crockett County High School in 1997. She continued her education at the University of Tennessee at Martin where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture with a concentration in Animal Science in 2001. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.

Dr. Young enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but she has a special interest in large and small animal general medicine. She is a member of the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Young and her husband, Jeremy, have two children, Drake and Lydia. Their family of pets includes Tucker, Dakota, CoCo, Jack, Strawberry, and some chickens. When she is not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Young enjoys reading, exercising at the gym, camping, and traveling. She attends the First United Methodist Church of Alamo, and she coaches basketball teams for her kids.
